Good morning to all St. Edward Jaguar families,

I want to thank our entire staff for making the St. Nicholas feast day a success. They made paper shoes and filled them with candy for all of our students. When school started yesterday, all of our kids received a shoe.

Wednesday, December 8 – The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception – All School Mass – 8:45 a. m.

Thursday, December 9 – The anniversary of the death of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen. Bishop Sheen was born in El Paso, Illinois on May 8, 1895. His parents moved to Peoria early in his life in order for Bishop Sheen to attended school. He attended St. Mary’s Cathedral School and the Spalding Institute. He was ordained a priest on September 20, 1919 at the Cathedral in Peoria. Currently, Bishop Sheen has been declared VENERABLE. There is a multitude of resources referencing Bishop Sheen. I encourage you to take a look.

Friday, December 10 – Blessed Buddy Day – Theme is ugly Christmas Sweater Day

We will be setting up for the annual Christmas basket event. I am asking that all 7th & 8th grade students remain in the cafeteria after lunch (12:30) to help with set up.

Saturday, December 11 Christmas Basket project in the gym beginning at 9:00 a. m. Volunteers are always welcome to attend. It is truly a ton of fun!

**Thursday, December 16 – Christmas Music Program

1st Program Begins at 6:30 p. m. Performing will be:

Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st/2nd grade block 

At the conclusion of the 1st program, we are asking that the gym be cleared to prepare for the 2nd program. If you have a child in the 2nd program you are welcome to stay.

2nd Program Begins at 7:15 p. m. Performing will be:

Band, Bells, Recorders, 3rd/4th grade block, 5th/6th grade block, 7th/8th grade block, 3rd through 8th grade in total

Tuesday, December 21 – A free pizza lunch will be provided for all students and staff by the Alan  Pham family.

Wednesday, December 22 – Final Day of 1st semester. Report cards will be handed out after we return 2nd semester. Bus service will be available before school and at dismissal.

Our school day will begin at our normal time, 7:35 a. m. followed by our All School Mass at 8:45 a. m. Immediately following Mass classroom Christmas parties will begin.  We will follow the same protocol as we did for the Halloween parties. Parents and outside family members will not be allowed in the rooms, but may bring in food, decorations, snacks, etc.

School will released at 10:30 a. m. for our Christmas break. Bus service will be available at that time.
